Holy batshit...my E92 can fit 4 tires...if I use the ENTIRE car. So swopping out tires is a full day event for me.

Yeah, with tires on the front passenger seat, I can carry two sets + the spare INSIDE the car...

What tires did you get? Are they for the RX-7 or something else?

Potenza RE-01 and yes, they are for the RX-7...

Probably a sign that tires have gotten bigger as much as anything. My S40 takes a full set in the trunk, though you do have to fiddle with the last two bit to get the last one through the trunk opening.

I tend to talk about how much I can fit ON the car rather than in the car with my Miata lol.

I can fit 3 wheels with tires in the car with the top up, but its just REALLY sketchy having one of them basically in my face. Generally I do two on the passenger seat and then two on the trunk via a luggage rack. I plan to install a roll bar and then just strap all four there or get a little trailer and then make life real easy.

I have been wondering since about a day after I bought my FB if a set of tires for it would fit in the back!

I have a half roll cage, which is actually the main obstacle... Without the rool cage, you can fit even bigger tires... These are 195/60/14 and it’s the biggest that can fit in the car in that position...
Also, you have a USDM RX-7... with 2 seats... Not sure as much can fit. All JDM cars had 4 seats, with foldable rear and less leg room for the driver.

Wow, I had no idea they ever existed with a folding back seat! I may have to try some time. While the tires on it are brand new, they’re also no-name junk in 175 section - I’d like to get a set of (correct) 185 or maybe even 195 if I can find something even mildly sticky in 13"

Yeah that makes the car a lot roomier... As for tire, Yokohama A021R... They exist in 185/70/13... I’d suggest going for 14 or even 15... The S3 came with 14" wheels from factory.

I really like the “+” wheels that are on it, though! Not to mention pretty much anything else I’d put on it would probably need to be custom drilled (thanks, 4x110).
Sadly I can’t seem to find the A021R for sale or even listed in the US! When I get around to looking into tires, I’ll be sure to post something on oppo while searching.

Apparently they have been discontinued in December 2015... They still have a lot for sale here in Japan though...
